The OnePlus 12 has made its official debut in China, and the company is gearing up for a global release on January 23, including availability in the US. With a presence in 50 markets worldwide, the flagship smartphone boasts impressive specifications.

Featuring up to a staggering 24GB of RAM, the OnePlus 12 surpasses many computing devices, including some laptops and desktops. Even the base model comes equipped with 12GB of RAM, a substantial amount compared to competitors like the iPhone 15, which offers only 6GB of RAM.

Storage options are equally impressive, reaching up to 1TB, complemented by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile chipset. The device supports rapid charging with a remarkable 100W wired fast charging capability and 50W wireless charging. A notable addition since the OnePlus 11 lacked wireless charging altogether.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the new Sony LYT-808 sensor for the 50-megapixel main camera and a 64-megapixel periscopic telephoto camera. The device features a 6.82-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a 2K panel manufactured by China’s BOE Technology Group.

While the aesthetics resemble its predecessor, the OnePlus 12 introduces a color-matching camera island and offers new color options. Including glossy white, classic matte black, and a vibrant green variant. Although pricing details are yet to be revealed, in China, the base model is priced at around $610. While the high-end version, equipped with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, costs approximately $820.

As part of the OnePlus 10th-anniversary celebration, the company has also unveiled plans to expand the availability of the OnePlus 12R smartphone beyond China and India. While specific details about the 12R’s specifications are not yet disclosed. It follows the tradition of being a slightly underpowered and budget-friendly alternative to the flagship phone, similar to the OnePlus 11R.
